Prime Minister says peace is "within reach" while Trump's son-in-law says US president is "very engaged" in negotiating agreement

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with White House adviser Jared Kushner on Thursday as part of an attempt by the United States to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Along with Kushner, before the start of their meeting at the Israeli army headquarters in the Kirya compound in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said he was confident that peace was "within reach".

"We have a lot to talk about. How to advance peace, stability and security in our region - prosperity too - and I think all [these things] are within our reach, "he said.

"So I'm happy to see you and [see] the efforts you are making on behalf of US President [Donald Trump] with Jason [Greenblatt] and other members of your team," said the Prime Minister. I think it's a sign of the great alliance between us and the big goals that guide us. "

Kushner told Netanyahu that Trump was "very committed" to help negotiate a peace deal and thanked the Prime Minister who works with the White House for this purpose.

"The president is very committed to finding a solution here that can bring prosperity and peace to all people in the region," he said. We really appreciate the commitment of the Prime Minister and his team who are engaging very carefully and respectfully in the way the President has asked him to do. "

Kushner also said that "the relationship between Israel and America is stronger than ever and we thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for his leadership and partnership. "
