This figure of the left wing had published Friday night a tweet aimed at Emmanuel Macron who took codes of the anti-Semitic imaginary.
The Socialist Party had warned: the case Gerard Filoche would be settled quickly. It did not take long. This figure of the left wing of the PS was excluded by his training Tuesday, November 21, four days after the publication of an anti-Semitic tweet. This decision was unanimously approved by the SP's national office, in the absence of Mr Filoche.
During a press briefing on Tuesday evening, party coordinator Rachid Temal explained the exclusion:
"The socialist family (...) has been hard hit by this anti-Semitic tweet. (...) We touch the very essence of our values, among which are the values of the Republic, humanism, the fight against racism and anti-Semitism. (...) It is not possible that a leader of the Socialist Party can tweet this tweet that takes the anti-Semitic codes of the 30s. (...) Tonight the PS took the only decision that called this tweet. "
The former labor inspector, " can no longer speak on behalf of the Socialist Party or be a member of our bodies. Gérard Filoche is no longer a member of the Socialist Party »insisted Mr. Temal. Gerard Filoche can however now file an appeal before the national commission of conflicts of the PS.
Friday night, Mr. Filoche has published on Twitter a montage where we see Emmanuel Macron, with the arm a Nazi armband on which the dollar symbol replaces the swastika. Behind him, the entrepreneur Patrick Drahi, the banker and British lord Jacob Rothschild and the economist and writer Jacques Attali, appear against the backdrop of American and Israeli flags.
"A dirty guy, the French will know it all together soon"had written Mr. Filoche to accompany this image containing codes of the anti-Semitic imaginary. The ideologue of extreme right Alain Soral must be judged soon for the diffusion of this same assembly, published first on its site Equality and reconciliation.
Struck out in 2014
The socialist, himself a member of the party BN, erased his tweet quickly. But the few minutes during which the message remained online were enough to trigger a wave of convictions. The PS announced as early as Saturday to initiate an exclusion procedure, judging that the published editing " Harbor [Ed] undermining the very values of socialism, as well as the daily commitment and grassroots action of its activists against racism and anti-Semitism ".
Mr. Filoche, for his part, apologized and assured that he did not know where the image came from. "Who can dare to accuse me of racism and anti-Semitism? All my militant life shows the opposite! Nothing to do with Soral and all this gang hated », he defended, denouncing a "Cabal in pack" against him.
The case also took a legal turn on Monday, when the Paris prosecutor opened an investigation against him for "Incitement to hatred or violence".
A former Trotskyist, a member of the PS since 1994, Gérard Filoche has often been challenged within his party. In 2014, he had already come close to exclusion when he reacted on Twitter to the death of Total's boss, Christophe de Margerie, calling him " bloodsucker ".
